Spiritual Hygiene Tips
Once upon a time, I had a male friend who was in a deeply toxic connection. He reached out to me for some assistance with something he could do to break the negative cycle. I gave him the instructions for a spiritual bath. He rolled himself a blunt with the intention of smoking the last of the stress away for his bath activity. He is now with a lovely lady he calls his twin. They have been together for many years, following the cutting of the cords he had with the toxic femme once and for all.
It literally changed the trajectory of his life.
We all have an auric field. Our auric or etheric field connects us to Source during our human experience via the chakra system. As we walk through our storylines, our fields adjust based on our interactions with others. Shifts, tears, and distortions in your field can happen for many reasons. These negative changes alter the way your magnetic field works
When your field is distorted or plagued with tears, your life might feel like it is a curse. This is because your magnet is set to attract based on the state of your aura. Negative will attract more negative, unfortunately. Whether you are dealing with the healing of your own personal baggage or heavy energy from those you have interacted with, maintaining a spiritual hygiene practice for your field will keep your magnet pulling more of what you desire towards you.
There are many ways you can heal and cleanse your auric field. Maintaining a practice for keeping your chakras functioning properly will greatly improve the integrity of your auric field. This can be done through visualization or meditation.

When your chakras are fully empowered and in working order, it will be easier to care for your field. If you are having chakra issues, the battle you are facing starts within.
If your chakras are running in alignment with a high frequency, any issues that you are experiencing are likely external. If you interact with people daily, their energy and the vibration of the interaction play a part in what happens with your field. If you have a job or home situation that isn’t favorable, you definitely need a way to clear your field often.

For those who would like to add an action-oriented element to their spiritual hygiene routine, here are some instructions on how to set the foundation for your spiritual baths. You can customize them over time to suit your preferences and spiritual needs:
SPIRITUAL CLEANSING:
PROTECTION BATH
What are spiritual baths for?
I recommend this at least once a month, near the new or full moon. You can also do them when you feel as though you are
under spiritual attack or carrying heavy energy. This particular bath cleanses your auric field of any negative energy that may
be causing blockages, as well as adds protection from future issues through the next moon cycle.
Base Ingredients:
-Sea Salt for cleansing and protection
-Lavender (Oil, The Herb or Flowers) for calming nerves and erratic energy
Optional Items:
Customize the items you add to your bath based on what you intuitively feel you need to focus on.
For new moon baths, you can add ingredients to attract.
For full moon baths, it is better to focus on what you need to release.
Here is a list of herbs you can use as a guide to help you tweak your recipe:

Instructions:
1. Clean the bathroom you will be using for your spiritual bath. The use of sage and Florida
water to cleanse and wipe down surfaces to remove outside energy is encouraged but not
required. Your main area of focus is the cleansing of the tub. Keep your intention for this bath in mind throughout the process until you have completed the ritual.
2. Make sure to gather everything you need so you don’t have to leave the cleansed space once you have
begun. This is a cleansing ritual and should be treated as such. From the moment that you
begin gathering your items and/or cleaning the bathroom, your intention should be
in alignment with your cleansing goals.
During your bath, you are free to listen to calming music, read
something you really enjoy, or you can relax and close your eyes in the tub. Candles
and incense (white candles and sandalwood/lavender incense) are also a great addition for
a calming vibe. Just make sure you have everything together when you begin.
3. Now that you’re all set, take a shower as you would normally and make sure to fully clean
yourself and your hair while keeping your intention in mind. You can also visualize any
unwanted energy sliding off of you and going down the drain as you wash.
4. After you are done showering, rinse out the tub and start running your hot
water for the bath. Check the temperature to make sure it is not too hot, as you will be sitting
in it for at least 20 minutes to an hour. Pour in your ingredients as the tub is filling and
make sure to say what each ingredient is for as you pour it into your bath (i.e., “Salt for
cleansing and protection)
5. The spiritual bath is meant for you to sit in and absorb.
During this time, do the activity of your choosing for relaxation for at least 20 minutes.
Make sure to periodically pour the water over your body, starting at the crown of your head, and visualize cleansing and protection.
6. Upon completion of your bath, get out, but do not dry off!
You may cover your head (it is actually recommended), but you must air dry and not bathe for at least 24 hours following.
That’s it!
You should start feeling some results immediately.
